I believe that all the small things count and add up. It starts by being friendly to someone else.

I have two favorite leather items. My Fuji camera with a leather strap and my Maracatu drum!

I love leather, all types of leather; a few years back I finished a side of embossed patent crocco, from which I made a bag for my wife, hand stitched… it took me quite some time and good effort but at the end it was a very particular present for her.

The work environment is much different from country to country and adapting the recipes and to choose our most proper products to the local conditions (raw material, water quality, weather, etc.) is one of the most challenging part of my job.

Most of us may not always realize how many objects made from leather one comes across every day. It’s such a versatile and unique material surrounding many of us everyday thanks to its longevity amongst many other properties.

I have a passion for leather products. Leather products express a decent, self-disciplined, minimalistic and functional life style.

Sustainable living practices not only help to reduce pollution but also conserve natural resources like water and energy. I contribute by providing all safety documents(MSDS) to the warehouse team and customers in order to support safe handling of materials and more.

I'm like a joker who connects the various departments together and tries to make the work of my operational colleagues as easy as possible. I can define myself as a problem solver of the export office!

I love leather furniture, purses, shoes, (shopping)bags. And would love to know how environmentally & socially sustainable these items are… How to check? That would be really interesting

Sustainability is all about small and consistent changes that we can make to help us to look after the planet!

After graduating from the Logistics Management course last summer, I came to work here as a project employee supply chain. In which I am involved in various projects and supporting work within the supply chain department.

The leather value chain is clearly a very traditional industry; resisting to speed up new technologies and changes, adapting to new regulations and lifestyle changes

The understanding of new materials and new processes in the leather field is my greatest passion for work.

What fuels my passion is understanding the behavior of collagen and to radically change the leather industry with more sustainable solutions.

Collaboration with all departments is in my eyes the only way to reach our goal “To make the leather value chain environmentally & socially sustainable”.

The people here are incredibly nice and maintain a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that truly energizes me.

The vision at Royal Smit and Zoon is clear and it's great to be part of a team which has a focus in providing for the generations to come.
